Interesting front sling mount. Might get TacOrd to do that if I send mine away.

I don't think mine came tapped under the mag tube ring for the swivel to be able to attach there. Only tapped at the end of the mag cap. My 14" also never came with a swivel. My 20" model did though.

Yeah, I have the cap mounted swivel hole but no provision on the barrel Lug.

Also found the sling eye in a little paper Bag that came with the firearm.

If I had the correct tap I'de drill and tap the barrel lug no worries. Anyone know the tap size off hand?

P.S : Have a raptor grip for the shorty. Just need to pick it up.

The swivel came in the same brown paper bag with my 20" so I knew to look for it when my 14" came. No dice though.

we do make ambi front sling mounts for the 590a1, fits under the end cap
made from 4330 steel and has 1 1/4 inch mil spec slot for slings
Do you/can you make a large one with sling attachment on the bottom, so it can act as an informal handstop as well?
I like those kinds of mounts because you can usually use it to make the gun sit straight when placed on a table or bench or something.

One like this, (ignore this guys flashlight)

Decided to add an eye to the barrel / mag lug.

Drilled / Tapped / lock tight / Problem solved.

I'd still prefer a machined mount, instead of the dinky swivel and corresponding rattling black swivel attachment that's needed and ends up hanging and flopping around.

Yeah I see your point about the dinky eye and rattle but I think that sling plate looks like a monstrosity.

This 14"er is my bush / truck gun. Will let you boys know how the sling eye holds up.

Edit: I also have an ulterior motive for drilling that hole.

Slings and attachments are definitely something shooters differ on. Purely preference based.

I like the robust look of the sling slate. It'll also add some substance to the end of this shotgun as mine looks a bit anemic on the front end.
If large enough, the plate will also act as a handstop, which isn't a bad thing on short barrelled shotguns.

Kamlooky...Is that you?

Anyone have a source to grab a 14" mossberg 590a1?

Seem to be a bit behind the eight ball each time I've seen them.

Any known retailers in Canada still have them in Stock?

Just wondering - did you ever find one in the 2 months since posting? You seemed to abandon the thread with no answer... Frontier had a few that sold out quickly, last I've seen for sale.

Every time I take out my 14" 590A1, I find something new that I love about it.

Anybody seen these 14" barrel 590A1 shotguns in stock anywhere?

Nope... word on the forum is that no more are coming. Some pop up on the EE every once and a while, mostly for more than they sold for originally (supply and demand).

There are 2 on the EE right now, one is $650, the other is $1000 asking price.

Mine is selling on EE for $1000 if anyone is interested. I have FABARM, and never ended up using the Mossberg one. :)

I was told this as well by a LGS that I called asking about one... Apparently the 14" barrels were meant specifically for law enforcement, and as of now, Mossberg will no longer be shipping them out of the USA to Canada.

So get one while you can, if you can still find & want one.
