Well 22LR seems to be all over the place now, at least in Winnipeg, the prices aren't great but that is life. But 17HMR is hard to find and when you do there is poor selection and the prices are all over the place!

thanks P&D, but i think he was after the 17hmr, i have a ton of 22, as do a lot of shooters, but i`m also sadly lacking on the 17hmr, my kids discovered them and like them better...sniff sniff lol

I am not a great shooter by any means, but I was putting remmington premium 17hmr through a ragged 3/4inch hole, and hornady 17gr vmax was close behind. The a17 was really that bad out of the gun. It was a cz455 with the varmint barrel.

I had stockpiled a bunch with intentions of shooting a lot more than I have been this year. Unfortunately, work gets in the way......

No such thing as a non-reloadable cartridge!

Epps sold a .22 LR reloading kit last month (I missed it, $80!) and if I could just remember the maker's name, I'd check to see what other rimfire cartridges they make loading kits for.

I think it was this one: http:[remove this]//22lrreloader.com/design-details/

Most of the rimfire ammunition at the Little Big Horn was reloaded. Apparently it worked really well, the Sioux had been cut off from ammunition supplies quite some time prior to the battle, and just pounded out the firing pin dent with a nail head, mixed match heads and ground glass into a slurry around the edge of the rim, topped it up with black powder and a ball ... and the Cavalrymen couldn't tell the difference.
