Who here has experience reloading for Martini actions rebarreled in .303 with Metford rifling? What bullets are you using, and where are you obtaining them (purchased or casting yourself?). Do they have gas checks? Any other tips?

Thanks

I Load for mine however it has a "E" mark meaning mine has Enfield rifling. I load my own cast bullets with a .30 caliber gas check. The bullet mold I use is a lee 312-185
Not all .303 barrels are the same as they can vary from .310 to .315
I would recommend slugging your bore before you by a bullet mold to ensure you get the right one. My bore slugged out to .311

I have a friend with a Lee-Metford and I load for a Martini-Enfield.
I asked my friend about it once, how the different rifling meant for black powder loads works with smokeless, and he said he loads it like any other .303B and it shoots fine. He uses .314" 200gr cast with a GC (Lyman 314299), tumble lubed with Lee alox. I use the same in a Lee-Enfield but they're too small for my Martini-Enfield so I use a 187gr .317" (.316" on mold but they drop .3167" to .3170").
We both cast ourselves. I don't know what velocity he gets but I usually aim for 1200-1500fps for light plinking rounds.

My Martini-Enfield slugs at .3165" :(
