OK.
I'm a blued steel and wood kind of guy when it comes to firearms. I used to think that Glocks were ugly plastic guns. But with the months and the years of involvement in the gun community, I developed kind of a curiosity for them. I even shot one before buying.
Now I think they are not ugly plastic but kind of ###y polymer guns. And I just bought a G17 Gen 4
I needed to share. Thanks for reading me.

perspective on Glocks change completely after you own one. They are really reliable and simple to disassemble! Lots of part/upgrade availability as well.

Congrats!

I've never disliked the Glock, its just too much money for what it is. When I say too much money, I mean here in Canada.
$500-$600 I'm on it. The prices are only set to go higher with a weaker Canadian Dollar. When our dollar was strong, Glock didn't adjust the price point, now our dollar is down...whelp...now the prices are going up.

nice pistol, just not for the price.

I have a g22 rtf that Im starting to hate, im not entirely sure why im starting to dislike it but I am. Welcome to the glock club

That is not Glock, that is greasy distributors raking in the extra percentages

Thanks guys for your replies. I think I will enjoy the Glock. It is fun to shoot and a breeze to field strip and also it seems to be built to last many, many thousand rounds...

Glock pistols are no more expensive than many other options, and far less expensive than almost all 1911's, Hk's and SIG's. I've owned a good pile of Glocks and I have never paid over $600 CDN for any of them.

Glocks are Ugly plastic guns, no AND IF or BUTT. ###y and Glock is mutually exclusive.

Don't luv my G17, G21, G22 for their looks. 92FS with cocobolo grip is a ###y gun.

I am better than everyone else because I am a disciple of Jeff Cooper and J.M. Browning. My pistols were designed in the year of our Lord nineteen hundred and eleven, and are in God's calibre. I will tolerate no dissention or disagreement with the inherent superiority of my armament or my righteousness.

BUT:

Were it not for my gun bigotry and puritanism I would buy one of those beasties in a heartbeat! They shoot like a house on fire, they can take a beating and keep on shooting.

Just as long as you keep it out of sight at the BBQ and don't offend the foolish firearm forum folk by bragging about it...we'll all get along fine! :)

Glock 17 gen 4 $799 is the best I could here in my neck of the woods.

I am picking a Glock 22 .40 used. My friend said he doesn't like it.
What's everyone's gripe with the .40 ?
