Thanks Spank!A 1 1/4 oz load was considered a big payload back in the day. It was only capable of achieving in a 10 ga. at one time and most hunters were like you Cat and handloaded for their big double guns. Nash Buckingham comes to mind writing tales of his duck hunting adventures with his gun he called Bo-Whoop. Thats a NICE gun you have in that picture!! Took me a second to realize the bird on the right was a Speck. I love the challenge of Specks in a field!!
It's the only bar in wood I have ever seen except for one other .Very classy looking rig!
Ugly guns?Cat. Do you own a single ugly gun? Everyone you post is gorgeous!
I have a Spanish box lock side by side in 10 ga. I love it. I can fold geese out to 60 yards with it.
A couple of my buddies laughed as they saw me putting it together for a morning hunt. They were on their phones looking to buy one after I crunched 7 of 8 geese all over 50 yards. The one that didn't have his flight outright canceled took another shell while in the field. 1-3/4" oz bb works well
I've had a couple single shot 10 ga guns and really enjoyed them. I'll probably buy another

An 11.6 lb double gun is a joy to shoot goose loads from. 2-1/4 oz #4 lead gets your attention but it's still less than my 3.5" mossberg which fits just right
I need to have some work done to my sxs 10 ga for this season. A local business couldn't figure out how to ream barrels. Not sure if I'm going to have the barrels cut and threaded for tubes or just properly reamed
Cory- pattern the BPS!!! Mine shot very different with different shells. No point in shooting at geese if you are not hitting where you are looking.
AJ I would have given anything to watch that deer get hit with that 10 bore buck shot load.
