Anyone using this little ripper round?

what did you experiment with powder wise? and projectile wise?

failing the Sako l579 rifle sale, it is in "27-08"
after my .270 win barrel I am fur sure turning into into a Long magazined, Long actioned 270 redding! just cos :)

with the 7-08 already on the table the 270 redding is basically already commercially available, we're talking about 0.007 thou difference. So unless your having problems finding 7mm bullets I don't see the reason to shrink down to .270

My reason was that I sold all my 270 Winchester chambered rifles and ended with about 3000 .277 bullets.
Good enough reason for me...

I've only used it on Deer, originally had hoped to take it Sheep hunting, but health has been an issue lately.
As for Elk or bigger animals I prefer my Whelen or one of my 375s.
 
For the record there was a .270 Savage built for the 99 action on a .300 savage case I think? Harold

Yes, there was a very nice one on a table @ the Kamloops Gun Show a few years ago.
The vendor / owner spoke very highly of stating it that he was only selling because of major arthritis.
It sold fast..
