Now we can't even carry out airgun to a buddy's house in a backpack because it is concealed, but tell me what a gun in a car trunk is if not concealed?!?
I am concerned about all the air handguns out there because even a sub-500 handgun is a real handgun under this new law. Also notice that it is up to the police, etc., as to what charges will be laid so the law is so gray you don't even know if you are in the wrong until they charge you.
Just like Bill C-68, neither the guns nor the owners became more deadly or crimminal, but rather the law changed to make you a criminal where once you were legal. Almost every child could just go out into their backyard even in the city and shoot at a safe target when we were growing up. Now you might as well just buy the kid a .22 rimfire when he becomes legal age to become a PAL gun owner.
I was talking to the GF today about how a 500+ fps airgun is a "real" gun under the law, yet you can't hunt small game with even a 1000fps airgun in NS. It is an issue of federal gun laws compared to provincial hunting laws. So you end up with a real gun you can't hunt with.
