Had this XCR in 5.56 for about 2 years. It's the version right before the keymod. Roughly 1200 rounds through it and this happened today....anybody else had a problem like this? For a $2500 rifle, that's a pretty serious problem to have happen at that round count...
I'll definitely be contacting robarms tonight, just wanted to share.
Cheers,

Oh Snap.

I heard they have pretty ####ty customer service and the CEO lost his #### a while back. Would be interested in hearing the response you get.

At first I thought the picture showed that the barrel had snapped right in front of the chamber! I don't know XCRs at all--is this a difficult fix or a replacement part? Was the rifle from Wolverine originally? They've got a good reputation for service.

You are the second one to have this happen to, there was a batch of piston rods that was out of spec, call Wolverine in the morning they will look after you.

Too much gangsta shooting (tilting the rifle on its side and using bullet impacts to "aim") is what causes this. You have to shoot like a normal person otherwise you will buss yo gat wif too much GTA 187s.

Sorry for your troubles and best of luck with RobArms customer service. The problem you have is that you paid $2500 for a rifle that is built to a $500 standard in terms of material and build quality. I drank the Kool-Aid years ago with the M-96 "Expeditionary Rifle" and promises of a Bren-style top feed magazine feed system. The latter never materialized and build quality on the M-96 was iffy. A lot of owners were left holding the bag when Alex Robinson abruptly decided to abandon the M-96 and stop supporting the design, including manufacturer defects. As a result, a lot of rifles remain safe queens for fear of breaking an irreplaceable part.

Unfortunately, history repeats itself with the XCR. Cost cutting and rushing an immature design to market too soon led to major teething issues for the XCR. Rather than step up and take responsibility for putting out a $hitting product, Robinson continually went off the rails anytime anyone offered the slightest constructive criticism of his product. Those who complained were literally black balled and could expect zero future support from RobArms despite having laid down their own cold hard cash in good faith to buy a RobArms rifle. Life's too short to deal with that kind of crap.

I sincerely hope that the OP will get his rifle repaired in a timely fashion. We're lucky in Canada to have an exceptional distributor in the form of Wolverine Supplies that have often gone above and beyond for their customers even when RobArms $hit the bed, but I hope prospective XCR buyers make an informed decision before buying. There are better options on the market for the money.

The best way to be taken seriously is to make egregious claims lacking merit and to embellish facts and figures.

So I contacted robarms directly and they are going to replace the op rod free of charge. They have a one year warranty for legal purposes but seldom enforce according to tech support at robarms. So I'm really only out the shipping charges to send it back and the down time waiting on a replacement...

What are you sending back? Why wouldn't you call Wolverine and save yourself the hassle?

You must be lying cause there is no way evil Al and his evil company would ever provide decent service; that'd make liers of lots of CGN poster.

Glad to hear they're replacing the op rod free of charge. Wish the keymod and light barrel was available when I got mine.
