Sorry for your troubles and best of luck with RobArms customer service. The problem you have is that you paid $2500 for a rifle that is built to a $500 standard in terms of material and build quality. I drank the Kool-Aid years ago with the M-96 "Expeditionary Rifle" and promises of a Bren-style top feed magazine feed system. The latter never materialized and build quality on the M-96 was iffy. A lot of owners were left holding the bag when Alex Robinson abruptly decided to abandon the M-96 and stop supporting the design, including manufacturer defects. As a result, a lot of rifles remain safe queens for fear of breaking an irreplaceable part.
Unfortunately, history repeats itself with the XCR. Cost cutting and rushing an immature design to market too soon led to major teething issues for the XCR. Rather than step up and take responsibility for putting out a $hitting product, Robinson continually went off the rails anytime anyone offered the slightest constructive criticism of his product. Those who complained were literally black balled and could expect zero future support from RobArms despite having laid down their own cold hard cash in good faith to buy a RobArms rifle. Life's too short to deal with that kind of crap.
I sincerely hope that the OP will get his rifle repaired in a timely fashion. We're lucky in Canada to have an exceptional distributor in the form of Wolverine Supplies that have often gone above and beyond for their customers even when RobArms $hit the bed, but I hope prospective XCR buyers make an informed decision before buying. There are better options on the market for the money.
