Hey guys,

I have 2 guns that have been sitting in my safe for a long time and I am thinking of selling. Just wondering if anyone had an idea of value?

1) Winchester model 63 22LR serial # 6454 with a Lyman rear comb sight. In good condition light pitting on barrel and light scratches on stock.

2) Remington Model 30-S Express 25 rem serial #22654 with a Belding and Mull Scope in very good condition.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

The model 30-S is a very nice rifle but with that obsolete calibre and scope it might be a tough sell. I don't know really, it's just one opinion. Maybe a Remmy collector would be interested.

I would imagine this would be more of a collector item but if someone did want to shoot it I have over 20 boxes of ammo to go with it. I have done some research on the belding and mull scope which I believe was produced between 1925-1940. I have been told this is super rare collector piece by another gun collector.

The Remington 30 Express did not come from the factory chambered in 25 Remington.
So, what collector interest in a rebarelled rifle with holes drilled in the action?

According to Wikipedia and an old Gun Digest it was in fact made in 25 Remington as well as 30, 32 and 35 Rem as well as 30-06 and several others.
I did see one in 35 Rem. at a gun show years ago.
I have one in 35 Whelen that was originally an '06.

Sure didn't know that Kevan.
Guess I'll have to look at Wikipedia more often.

No problem Bruce, curiosity got the better of me this am so I took a mug of coffee out to my ' library ' and did some major searching.
Apparently there were several variations of the Mod. 30, the 30 A, the 30 Express and so on.

When I was a kid on the farm South of Saskatoon my Dad came back from a gun show in Montana with a Mod 30 Express in 35 Whelen.
This was about 1964 if I remember correctly and this was decades before the Whelen was a factory round.
The old gun had a 26" barrel by John Buhmiller, an old time Montana gun builder and in spite of a lot of wear it shot very well.
I'll never forget the first time I shot it with its steel butt-plate and a 275 gr Hornady bullet.... it rocked this 120 lb. kid pretty good.
I still have but now it wears a Bevan King stainless, a Bishop stock and yes, a recoil pad..... those were the days Bruce...

Yes it is from factory in Rem .25 this ammo is very hard to find from what I understand. I do have 20 boxes of Remington Kleanbore 117 grain soft point ammo made for the Remington model 30 that came with the gun.

As for the 30, the scopes sell from time to time on various US gun sites, usually 150-300$ depending on the exact model etc. You can google them for some examples. Mod 30s usually 4-500ish. Don't get me wrong, I personally really like the package (not so much the chambering), but I think 650-750$ would be realistic in these parts. If the ammo is factory, it will add more to it, if its reloads, not so much. I think with factory ammo 1K would be a fair all in, but finding someone to pay that may take a while, or no time at all.
Like I say, I think it rocks.

the model 63 winchester is probably at the low 600 ish ? and depending if it is a delux more .Cant be sure on condition as pic is to dark to to offer more of an opinion

I have a Rem. 30 Express, with factory installed Lyman 48 sight, in the much more common but easier to source 30-06 chambering.I purchased this rifle not too long ago for $595.00 and is in very good-excellent condition. The 25 Rem. chambering of your rifle, plus the period scope definitely makes an interesting package for anyone interested in these rifles.Very cool combination for sure.
