JW15A-13"... Not a raging pile of ####

Can anybody suggest a compact case (soft or hard) for a scoped Jw15-a? I'm using a regular length soft rifle case but it's way too big for this tiny gun.

I use a 36" UTG carbine case. Cost about $25. It's soft, rectagular, couple exterior pockets. Gun fits well. There are lots of cases like this around.

Thanks for the suggestions, I picked up a compact rifle case off Amazon along with a bipod and a cheek riser. I find the factory plastic stock terrible for a scope.

Agree with the cheek piece.... Part stock problem, part bolt handle, makes for a high mount and chin weld.

Correct me if I'm wrong but these aren't target rifles....the only reason I scope my 22's is I HAVE to....can't use iron sights anymore.50 yards would be a long shot ,with 25 yards or less the norm for small game.If I was planning on hunting longer ranges ,I would carry my NS 522,or 22 magnum

doesn't matter if they are not target rifles or not. if a guy wants his rifle to shoot small groups then he should be able to try to do his best to make it so :)

been part of our culture for decades. take hot rodding. a '46 Ford is not a fast car, but if you tweak, tune and fiddle with it, you can make it beat a Tbird or E-Jag. that's the point. Anyone can buy a Cooper or Anshutz if they have enough money, but its fun to be able to get your $200 rifle to group with those high dollar rifle.

Success mounting a red dot.... I will have to shoot it a bunch to see if it will stay on. Feels handy anyway.

Used one of these....

I scoped mine out of necessity as well, my eyes have gone to #### in the last few years. Plus, the short sight radius on the JW15-a doesn't really lend itself to accurate shooting with the factory irons. A nice compromise would be a Williams peep sight.

I wasn't denouncing anyone tweaking their short barrelled JW15,all I was saying if you wanted a competition type target rifle there were better platforms to put money into, such as the NS 522 which costs about the same( I bought mine from Canda Ammo for $199).I think the 'backpacker' is just that, a fine small game /plinker ideally suited for its intended use.The Bushnell Dusk to Dawn 4x shotgun/rimfire scope with the circle reticule works very nicely on my regular length JW15 and should be just as good on the shorter barrel(I did have to go with high rings though)

Down to 8...

The thing about these Norinco's is if you like one,get it because they seem to come in 'runs' and then are no more.I liked that straight stocked 94/22 knockoff but didn't buy it ..this time I got the NS522 and the JW 20 when Canada ammo put them on sale

Mine arrived today and I must say I am happy with it, it is better than I thought but have yet to shoot it. The bolt handle knob deviates from the Brno design as it is smaller but perhaps this will aid in mounting a scope (clearance). The locking lug is smaller than the Brno but it's still fairly robust. I put on an old Weaver for tomorrow's range visit. Brno/CZ magazines fit, we'll see about feeding tomorrow. The bolt is quite tight, not rough, but tight, I am sure that after 20K rounds it will loosen up.

It's a lot of rifle for $200, it appears to be quite robust.

Interestingly on the back of the receiver it's marked "Bell Lifestyle 2014" and if you do a Google search it won't come up firearms! Edit/Update Apparently Bell LifeStyle is the importer...

..

The 10rnd CZ polymer mags work flawlessly in my JW15. 20K rounds is a lot of ammo to break in a bolt….
