Hi folks,

Looking to add a .22 pistol to the collection. Either looking at a 1911 or a pistol equivalent to the sig mosquito. My price range is $350-$500. Don't want a precision pistol. Any recommendations,

Thx

GSG 1911-22 is a well liked pistol, but stay away from the Mosquito. Browning Buckmark and Ruger MKIII(or MK I and II in a used), have a faithful following.

The wife picked up an issc m22 for 299 from sfrc but they're sold out now, and I bought a gsg back when they were a fair bit cheaper. Both are great guns for the price.

Edit. $335 for the issc with either a black or od frame from a non sponsored retailer that I believe has free shipping. Google or pm if interestes

I have owned almost every .22 handgun in the price range, and currently this is where I have settled... Ruger 22/45 Lite! The S&W MP22 would be my second choice as it was very reliable and well made also.

Sig Mosquito was one of the worst pieces of crap SIG ever made it didn't help that SIG left their customers in the wind when problems occurred as well

Im a 1911 guy so the gsg was mh choice and I would have no problem buying another one
And yeah the mosquito was a complete peice of #### my wife had a pink one.

Grand power shoots amazing, very soft, very light, very accurate too. I would not buy anything else.

The German's don't make mistakes (well, cept for that one time. I guess).

Hate to be in the minority opinion here, but the sig mosquito is awesome. I know it has many bad reviews, and I know I'm not on the winning end of this one, but the cool factor of the sig .22 cannot be denied. Hell, I'm practically a Navy Seal now..

Seems to be ammo 'picky' yep 100%, but seeing how cheap .22 ammo is now just as ridiculously expensive as the primo stuff, I think it's the mosquito for the win!

As per "Be your own gun lobby" I needed a sweet .22 semi when taking first-time shooters to the range. This little pistol is just what the doctor ordered, and as long as "premium" .22 ammo is available, then this is one of the coolest .22 semi's out there.

I just don't like that "wannabe luger" look of the woodsman, buckmark and .22/45. Anyways, here's a single one-up for the Sig mosquito.

Get back to us in a year or so when your slide cracks in half like most mosquitos do. Saw a guy shooting one at the range a few weeks ago with a cracked slide. Wondering why it kept jamming.

Thoughts on the m and p 22?

I have several .22's ... best of the bunch is a Beretta 76s ... then my Buckmark Contour. I have an M&P 22, love it but it does have the jamming issue from time to time in spite of doing all the different fixes on the board here ... too bad because it is a great gun.
