Mine's not a screw, it's a pin. Mine is very tight. No sure what the issue is with yours.

Does it still use the detent to capture the pin? is it in there? that helps keep the pin in there as well. i bought mine with a rail installed that someone didnt put the detent back into, and the pin falls out all the time. had to bend it.

It would be nice to see if anyone has replaced that pin with something different and where we can buy them? Someone buggered up the BC tactical upper I have thus I have resorted to using a screw and nut and it looks ghetto.

OP that top hole you can see in that pic is threaded. You can get a set screw from home hardware that will fit. You can tighten that down and it will hold the horizontal pin.

I'll have to go check but isn't there a set screw up through the bottom that you can adjust the tension on the spring and detent? That retains the horizontal pin
