Very nice set up crazyd! Mcmillan stock? Was this rifle a rebarrel jobby? how do you like the peep?

Bought it off here. It's a Redfield flip up peep. Mounts the rear of the bases via drilling and tapping two holes in the back. Folds out of the way for when the scope is attached.
That's very nice.
I have contemplated doing another version of my Whelen with a stainless action.
Mine is a Pre'64 blued action with stainless barrel.
Rembo, that is a very nice rifle indeed! What does it weigh, as it sits?

Yes it's a McMillan. The barrel was just chopped down and the front sight mounted. I really like that peep, works great! Also using the same rings as yours when the scope is on.

Got it home and scoped just need to do a range session asap!
Just in time, I was out last weekend and it was heating up - can't wait to go back out hopefully next week some time.... See if I can find mr.big.

Awesome! You will find one! Get that 9.3 bloody!
Have one on both of my 9.3X62 rifles.
They work well, however repeated shots may fold the sight back down.
Good to see someone bucking the 9.3x62 love-in of late around here.
A single shot is enough with the 9.3X62, so not a problem using them.

Bit of an update. Had some issues with my base and ring setup. My basses ended up not being the correct ones for the reciever and I ran out of verticle adjustment at 100y. New bases and it was back to the range. @125y the 250 speer hotcore are showing some promise. I ordered some 200grttsx and 200gr accubonds from prophet river and will try to build a load with the these. I must say that a 8lb 35 whelen shooting 250gr bullets at 2700fps wakes you up. After 11 rounds I was done.

I can agree with the recoil, my Whelen is heavier than yours and its pet load with the 275 Hornady was much slower than your 250 gr. load, but mine wore a solid butt-plate from 1964 to about 1990 and I swear that I still have the word ' BISHOP ' stamped into my shoulder..
I'd sure like to find some more of those old, long discontinued 275 gr. Hornady bullets it liked so well....

Hey kevan i found 280gr swift a frames. But heard that they need 358 norma velocity to reliably expand
