The Beretta CX4 Thread

Expected delivery: 2015/09/08 :(

Delivery standard date: 2015/09/04

(1)Does that mean I still have a chance to get it before the weekend?

(2)Do the mec-gar 92fs magazine work as well as the OEM ones? Wouldn't mind saving a few bucks

(3)Also, how to I determine where to mount the optics? I bought a Bushnell TRS-25 RDS, am I supposed to mount it closer to my face or further down towards the barrel?

1-do not hold your breath ...avoid disappointment...unless of course it says out for delivery.
2-Avoid disappointment and buy Beretta OEM magazines...the EE is a great place to shop.
3-Wait till the gun arrives and place it upon the rail in different positions and see what works best for you.. not sure if the stock sights will allow for co-witness.
Only way to know is wait till your new gun arrives.

I find the Mec Gar mags to be flawless. I have the two stock Beretta mags that came with the carbine, 2 stock Girsan Mec Gar mags that came with the pistol and 2 more Mec Gar 92 mags that I bought later. All work 100% of the time in either firearm. Never one issue period.

With the 2 96 mags I have, they work perfectly in the pistol but not so good in the carbine. I wish they did, would be fun to shoot 14 instead of 10.

^Thanks. I have Mec-Gar magazines for my Sig p226 and they run flawlessly. I was expecting the same from their Beretta magazines but good to hear other's feedback.

I tried with Al Flaherty's in Toronto, and they said they hadn't been able to any them in months. Frustrating, as they seem to be common as hell south of the border. If you find a dealer that has them in stock, post on this thread and that dealer will have more business than he can handle, I think! :)

SO CLOSE....grrr.....

We'll expect the range report by Tuesday morning at the latest. With pictures. And donuts and coffee. :)

First impression, it's light and fits very comfortably! Need to mount my TRS-25 and then will take it to the range on Sunday/Monday

I have no idea what this thingie is? At first I thought it was a speedloader...but it's not...

After about 500 rounds through mine, I just thought I would throw in my CX4 experiences to the thread.

-TRS-25 is a great fit for the gun, without the riser. Co-witnesses the sights, but i prefer them flipped down.
-Mine doesn't like my Mec-gar 96 mags and will often "double feed" on a full mag, but is flawless with factory 92 mags.
-Love shooting it! My only gripe is where the rubbery section on top of the stock meets the harder composite, there is a micro gap there which seems to grab and pluck my beard hairs every time I shoulder it.

Thats it so far....

^Thanks for the info! I wonder if the Mec-Gar 92 magazines will work better? The Mecgar for my sig p226 work flawlessly

Yes it is a mag loader

Well that's embarassing...I couldn't figure out how to work it then lol. I'll just keep using my maglula

Don't worry, it took me a bit to figure it also. Just place it on the magazine, with the loader's vertical tab to the rear side. You use it to press down on the topmost bullet so you can slide in another round under the mag's lips, then release and finish sliding in the new round till it's seated into the mag properly. Think of it as an un-articulated Magula. :)

Puuuuurty! Now go forth and shoot, we want that range report. Shoo! :)

(edit: one thing I'm curious about is whether the Cx4 works better with 115, 124 or 147gr bullets. I haven't seen enough 147gr in the stores to conclusively find out, but I can tell you it absolutely loves Geco 124gr FMJ: from a bipod or a front rest, it easily shoots 2-3 MOA @ 50yrd, which I think is fine for a pistol cartridge).

Took to the range today, but cannot give a full report, sorry! Range was very busy and I was stuck in lane 1 with only 50 and 100m targets. Spent most of my time with my Weatherby Vanguard. I did shoot about 30 rounds with 124gr Federal 9mm on the CX4, but with only RDS can't comment on accuracy, I could barely even make out the target. I did manage to hit paper with it for most of my shots though, lol. Was fun to shoot, but I think I would have had more fun if I could have set up a target at 15 or 25m and I could actually see where I was hitting. Trigger is not great, but not nearly as bad as I was expecting. I think this is my favourite firearm to shoot in my collection :)
