Hey all - took a two week vacation to Europe and I hit as many hunting stores as I could. This is in Berlin at Frankonia, about two hundred meters from Check Point Charlie. Its the civilian version of the G36 model designation K. Apparently it is available as the HK293 in the States. The salesman told me that you could pick your choice of magazines up to 30 rounds but that in Germany you could only own one firearm and in accordance with your shooting discipline. Not sure if that was a translation problem as my German is nicht gut!

Did you visit Schloss Cecilienhof where the Potsdam Conference took place? Lot of history in Berlin!
Didn't notice the gun store when I was there but that was 12 yrs ago.

Too bad you can't buy one and send it home. Is the barrel threaded for a muzzle device unlike the HK SL8. Looks like something on there, hard to tell.

Thanks for the heads up Greentips. I thought there was something lost in translation. Woulda coulda shoulda on the purchase though not sure if I could import one. Stillalive - that version looks serious! Happy labour day guys.
