Is this rail supposed to fit like this?

I just bought my first 20 moa rail for a Remington 700 la clone and it seems like the rail doesn't quite fit right. The front seems to fit good, but of you press down on the rear and hold it flush against the action you get a big gap at the front. And the rear doesn't mould to the contour of the action.

Just want to make sure I'm not way out of line before I send it back.

Your clone has a 700 footprint. The top of your action looks proprietary to the manufacturer. You will most likely have to order a rail from the action manufacturer.

I'm no gunsmith and ain't no pro gunny but what your looking at sounds a little like the problem in this video maybe it will help you out, maybe it won't but might be something to consider.

I've had to bed one of my scope bases on a 700 but it was just a light skim job that was required and the curvature of the rail matched that of the receiver. What the OP pic is showing is that the curve on that rail is very different to that of the receiver.
