One species, for the rest of your life?

Being from Manitoba I have learned that I can live without hunting moose, and it won't be long before the elk are gone as well.
I however will never be able to give up hunting coyotes.

Im completey obssesed about hunting sheep and the mountains they live in but If there was only one animal, Id pick whitetails. Craftiest animal Ive hunted from the praries to the northern bush they are the hardest to be successful on when it comes to a trophy or big mature bucks. I havent shot a deer since 2010 and Im hoping this is the year. Ive got 3 really big bucks on camera and looking forward to them humbling me.

Mulies as I'm getting right proper sore to be moving anything as big as horse around
by meself.

Fish are a species aren't they?
J'adore fishing.

I was a huge whitetail hunter ever since I was a kid....BUT when I started hunting elk everything else went out the window. so for me it would be elk all day everyday

Not that it is practical any more...........but I have been an obsessed sheep hunter all my life and given a little better physical conditioning would continue to do so....................all sheep everywhere.

Since money and availability are listed as criteria (I didn't make the rules) that would narrow it down to whitetails or coyotes. Probably coyotes because there's no closed season, no limit, you can call and trap them too, and much of the time you might be able to make gas money. They are also perfect for a gun nut, and precision/long range shooter. Since its a year round thing weather can be whatever you want it to be. Hunting techniques tend to be active, so you don't have to sit for days waiting for something to happen.

Take money out of it completely and it would be elephant. Exotic, active hunting style and they occasionally try to kill you. Its impossible to be bored when you're close to an elephant. Great sport for people who like big guns. Nice weather if you like hot.

If money is a little tighter but not a major problem then buffalo. If you lump bison in there, then you can hunt them on every continent. Hunting techniques tend to be alive and mobile, they are good big gun opportunity for a gun nut and they occasionally try to kill you. Weather is predictable.

I think you have a lot in common with Jack O'Connor. Other than the .270W of course.

Personally I enjoy fishing for Brook trout with a fly rod and barbless hooks and hunting for whitetail. I would probably get more engaged with birds - if I had a dog ... but thats not in the cards right now.

That is a hard question to answer, only possible way to answer that is if you have had a chance to hunt everything that you want to. For myself I am a few animals short on that list, but I do agree the the upland game. Never a bad day walking around the bush with a friend or child shooting delicious birds. Very hard to beat!
