If yer just lookin for viddles shoot a fawn they taste better! You can have it flattened, gutted and skinned in 10 minutes if yer good at it. Cut the quarters and backstraps off it ( NEVER forget the heart best part ) throw em on the kitchen table cut the meat up and yer done. After all is said and done, hour maybe 2 outta yer day go on business as usual. Yer wife can deal with the meat bein butchered on the table, if not to bad she'll get over it if she wants to eat it ( They get used to hillbilly ways after a while ).
No need for all that as I have a walk in cooler and proper cutting table in an out building built especially for this kind of work...........

I agree, my dad did this when I was first hunting with him 15 years ago, passed on a perfect 50 yard broadside shot on a admittingly fairly small deer. I didn't get it, even I could have made the shot and I didn't know how to shoot yet. Then 2 days later he bagged one of the biggest deer I had ever seen, made a much harder 200 yard shot on it but it was a clean kill.
At the time I didn't get it, now years later I understand it.
Must be nice man, to rich fer my blood... Maybe to fancy wouldn't know what do with myself if I was able to do it the easy way. Lucky man you are, smart feller to bein able to draw up barrel dimensions and stuff. Yer gonna get thar buck brother, when yer not expectin it he'll show up for ya.

It is sure starting to look that way Phil......... Maybe they monitor CGN as well, just to see what us guys are all planning for them, and when............
OK, I have just thought about a change of direction in rifles for this up coming shooting of a deer...................I thought, now what if all I'm offered is a body shot, I don't trust the 204 there. It may work just fine but then again it may not............so I was just down rooting about in my vault and thought........ What about a 140 JHP pistol bullet from my 700 MS 350 RM at about 1500 fps. It should open up exceptionally well and I doubt it would exit, on a shot inside 50 mtrs. Shouldn't make a great ugly mess inside but should kill just fine on close range shot and if a head shot still presents it should be perfectly functional for that as well.
What do y'all think about the 350 RM using 140 JHP pistol bullets, should I be going faster, slower.........what say you who have used this sort of set up on game. I can run them anywhere from about 1200 fps to well over 3000 fps, but I doubt they'd stand for that. I was thinking more in the 1500-2000 fps range. Don't want blood jelly inside but I don't want a pass through either.
