New 9mm?

If you have sought proper training or are going to, the Glock by far. If you haven't a clue how to shoot like so many(unfortunately) then you will complain about the honest trigger and proclaim that Glock's are junk..

PPX's trigger may be a little better than glock, and the grip(depending on the hand). that's about it. everything else, especially the ongoing maintenance and 3rd party parts, ppx is world apart from glock.

Toss up between the glock 17 and the Walter ppx. Handled both, likes them both. Is the glock really worth the extra 370$?

Had a PPX, it was a great gun but I ended up selling it due to no availability of mags or parts. Ended up buying a M&P 9 instead (actually 3 including a CORE). With a bit of trigger smoothing these are a great gun and very reliable with parts readily available. Bonus is you can find tons of them on the EE FOR $500

this is really good advice. I got my g41 new, but g22 used in great condition. replaced with FO sights and add a 9mm barrel. great gun to shoot in 2 calibers.

No. Glock Canadian pricing is simply too high at this point in time. Buy used if you really want one.

Been looking at gen 3 and gen 4. 3 seems to be quite a bit less expensive. Are the differences major? Or is the gen 4 really worth the extra 100$+. Sorry if these are dumb questions. Not a new gun owner. But very inexperienced in pistol shooting.

One other thing to think of is resale ... being the latest gen 4 will hold value longer.
