So im new to slug guns and i have question. I'm trying to avoid buying another scope for a slug gun thats only going to see use two weeks a year so I taken my Hi lux CMR 1-4 off my ar and put it on my 870. Just wondering if all the hype around the added recoil of a slug gun requiring a true shotgun has any merit or should i be okay just re purposing this scope.

Thanks

Dudley

Get one with lots of eye relief. My 870 cantilever has a bushnell shotgun scope with 6" of eye relief. Keeps you from getting scope kissed in the forehead. The geometry of a shotgun can be different than a rifle, plus some slugs really recoil, so stay far back from that scope.

Bushnell makes a shotgun scope with 5 inches of eye relief. Or Nikon slug hunter is a good choice with 6 inches of eye relief. Both are 2x7 and have recticles for shotguns.
