I've wanted one of these for awhile now and I finally took the plunge. It's a 1915 DWM that has been rebarreled to 110 so it's much safer and I can be trusted with it. :rolleyes:

I love history and find I often prefer older guns to much of what is made today. I think these are pretty iconic and I'm excited to finally own one!

Thanks I know some people turn their nose up at historical pieces that have been altered but for guns in the 12.6 class it's the only way to avoid extinction unless things change.

I got this cool little Nazi marked FN 1922 a few weeks ago that had been rebarrelled to .380 from 7.65 to allow it to be reclassified as restricted. Same sort of situation....no longer original but at least it saved it from eventually going in the smelter as the pool of 12.6 license holders gets smaller and smaller (or being exported to the US never to return)

Thanks. I passed on a couple of similar (maybe slightly poorer condition but still nice) WWI vintage guns that had been rebarrelled to 6". Not sure why anyone would do that unless they were trying to mimic the P06 Naval Luger. Those guns were about 2/3's the cost of this one but to my eye the P08 4" length (or as close to it as we can get) is just so classic.

What a fine weapon. Period Correctness is a form of gun snobbery best left to the black powder geeks. They can afford it; we as modern sportsmen cannot. A piece like that has no place in the metal shredder.

I would like a range report too! Is it safe to fire, Sailor?

I am told it is. They have a reputation as a very strong design. In fact, some North American 9mm reportedly struggles to cycle the action properly. I certainly intend to fire it and have some 124gr S&B ammo on order that I intend to try in it.
