I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed this lately but while looking for a new bolt action hunting rifle I came across a decent sale at Wholesale Sports. They are marked as clearance and are being sold for 399.99 (43% off original price).

I have heard nothing but good things about these rifles the only thing that could be an issue for some is the strange graphics that come on the stocks, but for the price I bite the bullet and am going to try one out. Pricing seems to be the same across the 5 calibers offered and talking with the guys as the Deerfoot Meadows location they are selling them at this price until December and they have tonnes in the warehouse still.

So what do you guys think about this gun as a hunting rifle? I have to source some hardware for my optics but hoping to get it out into the field for a test in the next week.
 
Looks like only the "blaze" is on sale....Howa 1500 barreled actions iirc which are fine guns. That stock though.... Maybe it could be painted lol

At that price, it's worth grabbing one and putting a decent stock on it. Just putting a Boyd's on it will give you a heck of a good rifle.

I just went on line to check, but none in .257 Weatherby, which is the one I wanted, and I don't need any more of the others. By the time I paid to get one here, I doubt I could profit from it's sale, so I guess I have to pass.
 
Hey Boomer if you want one in the available calibers, I'm going through Calgary in a week or so I could grab you one and send it up to you. I'm seriously thinking about one in 243 and run 'er out to 6-284 as the one I have now is shot out (imagine that). For 400 bucks you can't afford to rebarrel and they come in 243 with a 24" barrel............perfect. Let me know, I could run one out to 6-284 for you too.......

Will a short action work for that round, or does it make it a single shot?
 
Winnipeg store had all chamberings in stock this morning.GOT one , seriously thinking of going back to get a second in 06.
