Helped to nab a poacher today

Dirt bags like this will make it impossible to take kids to the woods to show them where elks and other animals live....instead we will have to take them to the zoo to see a depressed animal.

Good job man. We need to stop unlawful poaching. I got nothing against hunters. Only poachers.

Poaching is Poaching, there is nothing lawful about it !
Poaching is Theft and there is nothing legal about Theft.
I want to see how it is reported in the Media myself.
Was this shot in the Nanaimo Lakes district or Bowser or further North?
Thanks for the photo and brief right up.

I'm also curious where this happened. They caught the native dude in Port Alberni a while ago, and I came across a carcass a couple of years ago around the Sayward area. The herd around Zeballos was all but exterminated, but I ran into a beauty bull up there last week, so hopefully they will recover.

Nice work.

Some Chinese and one Chinese/Canadian shot a doe in my friends field a couple years ago, mid day houses all around. They saw the Porsche Cayenne coming down their long driveway..... it stopped. Shots ring out and the deer in the field is down.
Not sure what they were thinking after that as they just left the scene but ended up getting caught closer to town. I guess you couldn't even really call them poachers as they were not interested in harvesting only killing.

Held at the detachment with no comments until finally one of them pleaded that a couple of the guys had to catch a plane back to China the next day as they were just visiting.
They ended up with a fine of some sort and were allowed to catch the plane as far as I heard....... Never heard any follow up in the media and the story was barely mentioned initially.

One of the guys was Canadian though and had a firearms license but no word as to what charges and punishment he received.

Some people have absolutely no respect for nature, animals, conservation, and laws surrounding them. I hope they get a huge fine, bans from anything involving firearms and hunting, and someone sees jail time for that revolver in the glove box.

Good for you and your logging crew for stepping up and doing an excellent job and a good deed. You guys should get a commendation from the local RCMP/CO.

Please don't support mandatory minimums ... They mostly just snag the undesevring with no evaluation of context or common sense.

Can't do the Time?
Dont do the Crime !
What is the context for carrying (allegedly) a loaded .357 Revolver in ones glove box after being in or near the location of an illegally shot (center fire rifle) Bull Elk in a Bow Only Zone?
jdman, when the story hits the media would you please post the link.

Did'nt know that there were any Asains on the West Coast ???

It's not like any one ethnic group has a monopoly on poaching and I'd guess that most of the poaching in the province is not done by new immigrants.

Any new immigrants that do get involved however are not doing their ethnicity any favors.
