I asked to handle a new Tikka T3 Varmint and it was all over.

Ya, I have credit card cancer right now = no glass yet. It's in .223. I have a tonne of Hornady match, HP and SP left so I figured the caliber made sense.

I agree, very smooth action. I let my neighbor (Remington owner) cycle the action and he said he saw a Tikka in the near future for him. :)

One of the smoothest actions on the market. Even comparing it to my Panda F-class action I have to say the Tikka is smoother. Congrats on the new purchase.

Thanks. Ya that is what got me was the action and the trigger. I actually like the stock as well. I guess the Varmint model has more of a wider bench-rest style fore-end.

Great! Don't call it a mistake, I did it 3 times and love all of them but have to let my varmint go (or may be I should keep it) just bought a Boyds thumbhole stock for it :) and add a bottom metal to except AI mags like I did for my Battue .
Anyways congrats!

I had a blued 300WSM and sold it, it was nice but I let it go.
Picked up a stainless in 6.5x55 and absolutely love it, it isn't going anywhere.
Smooth action and it was sub moa right out of the box.
Factory ammo and the only reload I've made both group tight; I'm looking forward to seeing what it will do after some load development.

Lapua brass, neck sized.
Br2 primer.
N560 powder.

139 grain scenar.
3.060 oal.
49.5 grains of powder.
Five rounds into 1" at 300 yards, consistently.

160 matrix vld
3.196 oal
47.5 grains of powder
Same accuracy as the 139 scenars.

As always, work up to these loads if you want to try them. The 160 matrix are jammed into the lands slightly at that oal.
