When I saw last year that Tactical Imports was offering the "G28" (Bundeswehr DMR) style of MR308, I (reluctantly, due to cost) had to find a way to get one!
I ordered this on December 29, 2014... (order would have been processed after New Year's)... it arrived in Mississauga in August. I got it in September. It was worth the wait. I don't believe this rifle is being sold by any other retailer in Canada. I had never seen one before, or heard of anyone else having one (other than I know TI sold some other ones, including the shorter rail models).
I wanted to say right off the bat too... Nick at TI is great to deal with. When I ordered this rifle, it was not at all clear that it would come with the rear sight and the flash-hider. I thought it would not, and that I would have to buy these ($500). When the rifle showed up, those were already installed. It was already built into TI's cost, so he just told me that, and I "saved" $500. I'm not sure every retailer in this country would have done that. I think there are a few places that would have been "...sorry, not included... but we have them in stock!" I don't know whether your rifle will come with the rear sight and flash hider, but mine did. Best to clarify up front if possible.
So... what can I say... this thing is an HK Kool-Aid drinker fan-boy dream come true. I'll just let the pictures to the talking. I have the HK foregrip and the brown rail covers on order with TI. Could still be awhile until that comes in. The scope is an S&B PMII 4-16x50 in a 28MOA AI mount. These were parts I had from other stuff in the past. I wasn't sure if it would all work, but it seems to work fine. The scope sits about as low as you can get it, and still fits over the rear sight. The scope mounts are not tightened up in the pictures. I need to shake this rifle out to get everything zeroed and working properly. I wanted the Harris bi-pod for the G28 look. The pic-to-stud adapter is not quite what I am looking for. If someone has any ideas on what part would get the bi-pod tighter (higher) to the rail, let me know. I will try and find out what they use on the G28 and see if I can get one from Germany.
"Unboxing", as the kids call it:
Two sizes of mags. The 20-round size is not included, and costs $129:
Clear mags... unfortunately we only get to see rounds in the top of them:
Small, medium and large AR's, in three different calibres:
