I went looking, but I figure you shotgun guys know the answer to this like you know your own mothers.

Are there 6.5" super shorty options in Canada? I found the grizzly 8.5 and the dlask 8.5. I also found some TALK about 6.5's from dlask in 2008 and 2014. The dlask website, however, only lists an 8.5. What's the current and up-to-date answer to this question?

I apologise for the less-than-helpful response, but a six and one half inch barreled 12g. shotgun? I don't believe I've ever been that angry about anything.

I have an 8'5, and really that's about as short as you want to go. Dlask had them, but I don't think the demand was there. You gotta watch where you put your thumb

I believe Dlask discontinued the 6.5", although they may or may not still make them by special request. They were nonrestricted with a full length stock.

IMO the 8.5" length is more practical anyway, and not much longer than the 7.5" actual barrel length of the likes of the Serbu Super Shorty.

Agree no real demand or reason for less then 8.5", 12.5" is where practical starts though...... :)
4 shells in the mag tube, takes any barrel over 12.5" length, uses stock forearms, and legal for hunting in BC where we have a silly min barrel length rule.

At 6.5 inches, we are definitely in the reason-free zone.

There's a point where there's almost no magazine capacity (on a non-mag fed) and it gets dangerous to pump the f@cker due to possibly exposing your hand over the muzzle. Looks cool though, doesn't it? I have two 5+1, 14" shotguns and they're awesome. I agree with another poster and under 12" the practicality goes out the window.

This is Serbu 6.5, yes?

Yes. 16.5" is definitely restricted and I seriously doubt a regular stock would get it to 26" OAL.

Unsure if any of these made it up here, don't hear them mentioned on the forums too often...

I like how the stock and receiver are 50% longer than the barrel. Can;t see much use as is, but it sure would look good under another gun.

A regular 14" LOP stock gets you over 26".

I wouldn't run a super short pump without a either solid vertical grip, accepting the fact that I'd have to periodically replace action bar assemblies bent by inevitable torqueing.

Meh. The 6.5 is more about novelty value. I don't really care if it's non-restricted. I mean, this is never going to be a hunting gun. (Unless a goose breaks into my house at midnight and confronts me in my bedroom with a knife) Restricted is just fine. It's a hand cannon.

My 8.5 is a fun range toy, but the novelty wears off pretty quick, although I will admit that with the pistol grip it looks absolutely nasty.

How terrible would that look??? Hated the look of the long 14.75" LOP Mossberg stock on my 14" 590A1, couldn't pull that thing off fast enough.

Guess it doesn't look too bad:

6.5"s lose a LOT of power, IIRC energy wise with like loads they bring a 12 gauge halfway back to .410 gauge out of a full length barrel levels.

I would agree here. Owned a 8.5" Dlask SG for a while and the front grip would grate the weak hand like a cheese grater. I wouldn't load more than one round for a Newbie.
Even restricted….I would own a 6.5" Serbu for purely Shyts&Giggles!
