Ummmmm still not seeing the sin or the weakness here. If you had bought a Remington 710 or one of those other low-end abominations than I think a good ol fashioned tongue lashing would be in order - another Sako in the cabinet is like adopting an African child... 
Well, the new Safari has arrived and it is a thing of beauty. It is as new, without a single mark and a real decent piece of wood on it..........don't need to spend several K to get this baby restocked to be presentable. The only downside is that it is in my second most hated cartridge, but that can be rectified.........Got stuff to do right now but will get some pics of this beautiful rifle up later today.
Well guys, here's a couple photos of the newest "succumbing to my weakness" purchase, along with the previous Safari in 375 H&H that I had restocked...........making them a pair of fine rifles IMHO

I caught the sako rifle bug a few years ago.
When I read about what he's gonna do to that safari.... Big Cringe LOL
But then again, customizing to make things into what "you" want them to be is one of my greatest hobbies/talents, so I will sit back and cheer you on.
Sounds like OP is a go big or go home kinda fella so ... Have at er, can't wait to see the outcome.
Actually after disassembly and some critical measurements I believe I will go with the 340 Wby after all, I can get 3.62 COAL as is, or with some minor modifications I can stretch that out to 3.85 COAL, which will accommodate the 340 nicely. And of course I have EVERTHING for the 340 Wby already, no case forming, no special dies, no custom reamers, just a couple hours of action work and a rechamber and she's a killing machine.
Although I know it can't be done with this rifle and barrel, I had an interesting thought......I think a 338 on a necked down 375 H&H case would be a sweetheart cartridge. I know, I know it wouldn't be any better than a 338 WM but what a slick feeding trio that would be ......300 H&H, 338-375 H&H and a 375 H&H..........I could see myself having 3 Sako Safaris in these three cartridges as a world wide hunting combo.......One could even add a 423 H&H (call it a 425 H&H) for the heavies,
for a four gun do all combo.........then if one really wanted to cover all the bases how about a 6.5-300 H&H.

275 H&H (7mm but named in 275 rigby fashion), 325 H&H (8mm of course), 375 H&H (just because the KING must have his throne), and your well named 425 H&H.
If you absolutely need a 30 cal then just add the 300 H&H and for ####s and giggles a 350 H&H ( now there is a sweet idea!! Lol) and a 400 H&H
