Weatherby Vanguard Series 2 sale 43% off

I just got back from getting some paint. Picked up black webbing paint at Michaels's. If they weren't the only ones with it, I would have left it. 10 bucks for the little can. The thing that floored me was the prices of the other krylon paints. Michael's is absolutely crazy. Went to CT and bought camo tan and olive green. Going to do the vanguard in olive with webbing I think.Have a couple other stocks to do as well. One in tan and webbed and the other to be determined.

Great stuff on the painting fellas, since I'm painting challenged can someone tell me how many cans to buy, in other words will a can do the stock one or two coats.
I went to CT this am and browsed through the Krylon aisle and left even more confused.
Any suggestions are immensly appreciated...

I like this alot! Should give it a nice tactical feel with great texture. Just make sure you cut along the edge of that masking tape to cut the paint, or else it could start to peel as you remove the tape. I just removed my butt pad with two screws.

One can is plenty. My spider web effect can feels close to empty after one stock, but the other cans (primer and Tan) are easily full enough for another stock or two.

Yep, sort of what I was thinking, these are turning out nice! Maybe I will paint flames on mine!;)

Get a krylon primer. Not two in one! Just primer. White or grey will change the tone of your other coats..
Then get a FLAT color. Usually the krylon camo ones are the best flat colors. Then add a clear coat if you want..

For mine. I did.
Primer, then flat camo tan, then "make it stone" in beige. No clear coat but i might add one. All krylon.

One can will do the job of many many coats. Dont worry about running out for one stock.

Most importantly... Take your time and do fluid and light strokes. Worst thing you can do is put too much paint and let it drip...

One more thing... Make sure you tape off the inside. You dont want to mess up the fit of the stock. Only paint the exterior.

With Michael's you should use the weekly coupon of either 40% or 50% off one item, which usually brings their outrageous prices back to normal for that one item.

How come the tape on the butt?
Why not just remove it?

Now all we gots to do is go to Costco's and git the same appairell.
Then we can form a klubb.

Thanks for the heads up. They have a 50% coupon starting tomorrow. I'm buying the paint and going for a od green with black web paint job.

I was told by Krylon in the USA 2 years ago, that the webbing spray was discontinued, and available only from retailers that still had stock available. I have not seen it in stores in Calgary for almost 2 years now. Not sure whether it's being made again, but that was the deal then....
