Weird shotgun

Blueing a shotgun for a friend. He says it's an Iver Johnson, but in scouring the internet, I don't see one picture that looks like this.

It's got this weird hinge pin with a lever, and you have to pull the pin right out to remove the barrel.

The gun had been painted with aluminum paint. I removed some around the action to see the make and model and the only thing there that is readable is the word "ideal".
 
Finally found a message board which says that it's most likely an Iver Johnson "Ideal", made sometime between 1909 and 1919. Apparently they made the 'champion', the 'ideal' and the 'ideal junior'. That's useful because the stock is in very bad shape. It's in a vice right now after some very judicious gluing. Now I need to find out if it's 3" or 2 3/4. I'm guessing the latter!

Being that age you might need to find out if it's 2 3/4" or 2 1/2".
I'm pretty sure 3" only became common once steel shot started to get popular.
Probably is 2 3/4" though.
