I have a Savage BSEV. I've had it for over a year, and never had an issue with it. Yesterday, I was at the range, and all of a sudden, it would not extract shells. I thought it might be gummed up, as it was a fair bit cooler than it has been. When I went to take the bolt apart, I noticed that the right-had (black) extractor has slipped out of the notch in the clip and moved back. I just thought I'd share this in case someone else has the same issue. It can be fixed with only a small screwdriver at the range.

Quite a lot of online talk regarding stuck cases in Savage boltguns. Many had extractors and ejectors replaced. Many problems were solved after break in or light chamber polishing. Mine before a polish would fail to extract..the extractor would split the rim and the round still wouldn't eject. Not sure its a similar problem..maybe the extractor replacements were performed because of what you are seeing?

I don't know, nor do I know if the fix will last or not. How did you go about polishing the chamber? Also, did it do this right from the start? I've fired probably 2,000 rounds, and had not had a single issue.
