Is Canpar that bad everywhere?

i got my desert eagle stolen by canpar. they delivered me an empty magnum research box with 5 pounds missing in the package. the box was resealed after being opened.

I sued em at the small claims court and i had a brand new gun(3months later) + 600$ from canpar(about a year after).

Canpar sucks, i hope it will never happens again next time its gonna cost them even more. i wont hesitate to sue em

It's not Canpar specifically, it's TransForce in general that has (ownership-driven penny-pinching) issues. They tried to consolidate Loomis (previously DHL's Canada domestic operations) with Canpar in the Vancouver area with disastrous results (reverted after about a week) because they tried to combine the two into a single facility without the room needed to handle the combined volume. You can probably imagine what that did for parcel misplacement and lost shipment rates...

He finally got it. Canpar outsourced the item to another courier, and it ended up at the bus depot with the wrong phone number.

Shows you what can happen.

Happens for a lot of places like Bowen Island out in BC. A lot of areas are so small that they're only serviced by a handful (or even just one) independents that everyone else contracts out to

No attempt to deliver no phone call or email. Had to find the tracking number and it says delivered 3 days ago. Have to call Monday to find out where. Not impresive

Simple solutions

1) when ordering firearms or parts via online retailers, DEMAND they use Canada post.

2) when ordering ammo or other controlled explosives, DEMAND from canpar to leave at your house if no one is home, you can fill out a form online that will coincide with your tracking number.

Printed out the form signed it and put it at the gate beside the house number. Can't miss it. Up for a week. No attempts at delivery. Checked tracking to see how far along it is. Says delivered. Sign is still on the gate

Canpar is horrible..had multiple packages delivered by them...every one was a gongshow just getting it to my door.

I had issues reaching Canpar re delivery times since I am rarely home in the day to receive packages. They were able to get me to fill out a form which gave me a sicker which is on the window by my front door. Now they can scan my barcode and get the instructions to leave my package in the garage. They have been great since leaving items in my garage and closing it again with the code I provide.

Only bad issue I had was when they delivered 1500rds 7.62x39 from cabelas and a SKS from westrifle arrived same day. I can only assume Canpar left the crate and Canada post nicely stacked the rifle on top so anyone passing by had a ton of ammo to go shooting if they decided too. Only thing keeping it from fully functional at the time was Cosmoline.

Yes, Canpar only has real depot in larger cities, otherwise they are a person in a van working from home, usually delivering for more than one company.

This is the case where I live(city of 70,000). Luckily the guy with the van is awesome. My packages are almost always heavy as hell(bullets) and he doesn't want to risk me not being home so he calls me first to make sure or sometimes I'll swing by his place and grab it. If I'm away for awhile with work he doesn't mind holding it for a week or two.

Hard to beat that service.

Canpar is awesome here in gp.. too bad so many other places have issues

Ya thats the guy I'm talking about, top notch!

ETA; just seen this thread is two years old HAHA
