Gun Ranges Across Canada

I don't even bother in Toronto. I don't get it, seems like a lot of the firearms business is restricted stuff yet I have no idea how you run that stuff in Southern ontario. What would be the total number of spots for shooters in the GTA vs what is available for sale.

Ours isn't listed there: Labrador Trap & Skeet Club wzww.labwestgunclub.com

We have 100m rifle with four bays as well as four pistol bays
9 different sporting clays courses with 15 machines including radio controlled launchers with rabbits & teals
Olympic trap field
Olympic skeet field
Heated Club house with canteen & lockers

All this for a measly $70/ year!

I'm a member at east Elgin sportsmen's association near aylmer Ontario. Around a 2 hour drive west of Toronto. We have a 300m range with 100 and 200m targets. A 100yd range with a 50 m targets. A 85yd pistol range with 25 and 50m targets. A 45 action range. We have a trap field open Sunday afternoons. Our indoor range is well ventilated with heated make up air for winter shooting. We have an indoor archery/air rifle/pistol range that doubles as meeting space. Two archery trails with 3D targets. For all this, we pay $205 plus Cssa membership. Outdoor ranges are daylight hours and indoor is 24/7 unless rented to anonymous renter 1. Lol.
I think it's a good deal considering what else the area has to offer. Membership is around 1000 members but almost always one can find somewhere to shoot.
We have an excellent Jr. Rifle program and Jr archery program on Friday nights. 100 new shooters a year in just juniors. Ipsc, idpa, bullseye, Sr. rifle have regular nights to practice and compete. Lots to do if one wants to get involved.

I haven't added it to the map page yet because your website provides no location, just a PO Box for mail.

How about a street address or a Lat/Lon so we can find it? Or even perhaps driving directions so I can find it on Google Maps?

Thanks

I am very happy with being a member at the Drumheller and District Shooting Association.

low rate, good members, 300 yard and a bit rifle range with a covered and raised shooting area, 50 (I think) yard pistol range and an archery section. Only downside is shotguns have been banned.

Neat looking range, and if you manage to shoot a round out of the range your likely having a stroke.

Kent clover leaf in Chatham. An hour away from Windsor. There is also erieau rod and gun club in Blenheim which is a 15 minute drive.

I'm wondering if we can take this idea to the next level? I created a ZeeMaps page for us and added the first 2 entries. ZeeMaps is cool in that it lets any user add an entry, so everyone in this thread (past and future) can add or edit any entry. This may seem chaotic but I have faith that our community is mature enough to turn this into the best, most comprehensive list of approved ranges (and shootin' holes?) out there. Just let me know if you guys think this would be a good resource and if we want to keep it general or go more specific (different markers for indoor vs. outdoor ranges, markers for CFSRC teachers, etc...). If there isn't any interest I wont work on it, but we'll see.

Haha it would help if I added the link. https://www.zeemaps.com/map?group=1660987&location=Canada#

OK. Fill me in on any errors and I'll happily make the fixes.

The West Nova Scotia Rifle and Bow Club is actually West Side Rifle&Bow Association.I.ve been a member for over 20 years.I got another range just a minutes from here.Bear point Rifle club.Established in 1948.It's now an indoor 20yd 22LR range.

Don't come to Kelowna. Our range is poorly maintained, membership is way overpriced, the 25-50m lanes are often closed and aren't covered (no fun in bad weather). The rifle range is 100-200, with probably 6 spots. Closed to visitors in August. No steel targets allowed.
If I didn't love my restricted I wouldn't even be a member.

Weak.

Please check out KAMLOOPS though. It is amazing. Steel targets are everywhere, set up for you, just bring some orange paint if you want them fresh. There are tons of pistol lanes, and the rifle range is gigantic and fun. Best range I've had the pleasure of visiting...I heard the also have an indoor in town for pistols, but haven't been as of yet. 2hours is a long drive but better than the frustration of Kelowna.

Hey CNDgunguy,
Just a correction/addition about EOSC;
  • membership is reasonable ($320 ish for first year and that includes the orientation (you get to shoot their guns to try a few out), then goes down to around $225
  • they are currently adding more pistol pits.
  • They now have at least 6, and each one can accommodate about 4-6 shooters per.
  • A new long range rifle range is in the works. 700m max

Stittsville range is pretty good. However due to it's convenient location, they rape your wallet terribly.
  • pistol and rifle range is $576 per year ! ! ! ....and no you can't just buy a pistol membership
  • open weekends and if a member wants to go during the week, you must call ahead to see if they will be there...ssoooo your paying almost $600 per year for a weekend membership :(
  • only 3 pistol pits. but each can handle about 8 shooters

My 2 cents for what it's worth....and in the U.S, 2 cents isn't worth spit....decide for yourselves

Fort McMurray, ab

Looks like an old image, but the bottom of the picture is the outdoor pistol bays. The upper left is the rifle range with about 10-12 concrete tables with berms and target stands at 25, 50, 100, 200 yards on the right and 200, 300, 400, 500 meters on the left. They're also in the process of building a two-story building with four bays that are going to stretch out to 1000 with a camera system. Top of the picture is the trap/skeet field and to the right of that (out of the picture) is the archery range and 100m rimfire range. I've actually never been in the clubhouse or the indoor pistol range. As far as lodging goes I've seen people camping in the little field by the clubhouse and it looks like there is a few shacks they rent out but I'm not sure on the details. I think the membership is around $220 a year. I'm sure somebody will chime in with anything I left out.

I'll take a few pics next time I'm out.

Care to share these nooks and crannies? I'd really love to have a spot to take my NRs out without driving around the world.

Cheers!

I'd like to put in a plug for my club.

It's about a 10 or 15 minute drive from Victoria and has everything you could ask for.

Easy access, great facilities and reasonable dues, check it out.................

You want camping? They even have camping and a fishing lake for the kids.
