SA 20 safety catch

Perhaps someone can be of assistance with a problem I have.

I just received a brand-new Colt Canada/Diemaco SA 20 from a CGN vendor.

I'm in the process of changing out the black furniture for green.

I removed the black pistol grip and slid on the green one (carefully positioning the detent spring).

I noticed a bit of a wobble on the safety when I tightend things up. I then tried the safety, but is is stuck on R,

I pulled it apart again and now was extra careful with the detent spring.Safety is still stuck on R.

What to do? Is it safe to fire?

Please note that I changed out the black furniture on a brand new SA 15.7 just 2 weeks ago with no problems.

Drop the bolt. Try again and report back.

Maybe a dumb question but did you put the detent pin (safety detent) in the right way on top of the detent spring?
