.300 WM Large primers or Magnums

It's not a bad idea to use the Magnum primers in a case as large as the 300 Win Mag.

I usually use them as soon as I get over 60 grains of powder to ignite.
More reliable ignition, particularly with spherical powders or in very cold weather.

I bet you can't find a published reloading manual with pressure tested data that uses anything other than magnum primers in magnum cartridges. Since you are just starting, why try to re-invent the wheel?
