i'm a cross eye dominant shooter.i've been shooting my rifles and shotgun for about a year now,and its been weird to say the least.i have an sks with a vietnam tiger striped tapco and bushnell red dot that's made it a little easier to aim.i got my first handgun a short while ago but haven't fired it yet because i'm a little worried about making an ass of myself at the range. anyone else been there? and how easy/hard is it to shoot a .45 with your wrong hand and actually come close to the target?

I do not change hand, I shoot with my strong hand both rifles and handgun. For the handgun you can easily use either eye you wish by moving your hands towards the center of the body and/or tilting your head slightly. Some others will tell you that they prefer using their weak hand, strong eye.
Personally I do not see much difference with either eyes shooting pistol, I can shoot as bad with either........;)

I was also a cross eye dominant shooter, but the fix is actually very simple.

Watch television for an hour or two every night and wear an eye patch on the eye you don't want to be dominant for 20 minute intervals with 20 min breaks. Do that for a couple days and it'll switch.

I did it 4.5 years ago, no problems ever since.

I have never heard of that one before and it sounds like a very good idea. Good on ya!
