I did a very simple modification my Lee Load-all II, to allow it to load 16ga 2 ½" shells.
Parts: (2) 1/4" spacers to lift hulls under the crimp starter, and crimp setter.
(2) 1/4" stand offs to raise the shell extractor under the crimp setter.
(1) piece of flat iron to stop the overall travel ( for 2 3/4" length shells). Seen taped on side of stem.

1/4" must be cut off the bottom of the crimp setter tube, I used a hose clamp as a guide for the hacksaw.
Assemble as per picture, trim your 2 3/4" hulls to 2 ½" and your ready to load shells.

Tradex Canada has a number of double barreled shotguns, with 2 ½” chambers for sale, making shells for them is easy.

Very interesting.

I was looking at the 16ga sxs over on tradex but was turned off by ammo availability. Knowing you can rig this to work is nice.

This still works fine on 2 3/4 shells right?

Yes it should still work fine for 2 3/4", when it is converted back, though I haven't tried it yet.

I just tried it and it works fine on 2 3/4", Just remove the (2) 1/4" spacers and start reloading. You don't have to lower the shell extractor as it still removes the shell.
