Seems all the American sites don't ship to Canada. I don't feel like doing any cooking during my next hunting trip, so I've decided to bring up some easy to heat up IMP's with me instead.

I can't seem to find any places that sell any (decent ones) within Canada.

Any info?

Does anyone know what the laws are regarding bringing in a case from the US? I may take a drive down over the border next weekend and hit up a sporting/hunting store for a case to bring back. Is that kosher, or should I expect CBSA to tear my car to pieces?

As somebody who has ate more than a few IMPs, I don't submit myself to ingesting that stuff. Too many nitrites and I really don't like eating them anymore. An alternative to check out is the Mountain House freeze dried food. It is better tasting in my opinion and lighter. The only bad thing is how much salt they have in them. I bought the Costco kits and they work great for camping.

Costco sometimes carries the Mountain House Supply freeze-dried foods. In general Mountain Equipment Coop has really good prices on the individual pouches. Make sure you compare calories per pouch; some of the pouches claim to be "2 servings" but not for a hungry person who has been hiking all day.

My Air Cadet son has these on his weekend exercises...not too bad considering they're military issue (no heaters, they heat in boiling water). I've chaperoned them and was surprised how good they taste. Better than the IMPs the hubby had during his stint in the military 20+ years ago.

Good if you can find them on sale, I'd love to find some for emergency rations
