Hello Guys

I was wondering if anyone has a swift reloading manual and would like to share the load data for the A-Frame 270 cal in 150 grain

my powders are H4350 and H4831 and some RL22

thanks Guys :)

Go on the web to check out the load data for the powders you have for a 150 grain bullet. Nosler Partition Data would be a good place to look too.

Pick a minimum load and start testing. You will have to do that anyway, so, go for it.

I load 60 grains of IMR 4831 under any 150 grain bullet. As always, work up.

This was my father-in law's load for a Brno 600 that he willed to me, and it pushes 150's at an honest 3,000 fps.

You won't find this load in any newer manuals, as they are all heavily lawyered, but this is a legitimate book load from decades past, when everybody knew a .270 could push 150 grain bullets to 3000 fps or more, without issue.

I believe our member, H4831 has some digital scans of older and "warmer" .270 win loads like this, if you contact him.

The 150 gr AFrame is devastating bullet on big game.

Let me say from personal experience that you cannot load the 150 gr AFrames in either the 270 Win or the 270 Wby to same powder level as the Partitions. You can get to the same velocity, but it is with considerably less powder. This in several rifles.

The "Pick a minimum load to start" above is very good advice.

280ruger, What hunting situation are you developing these rounds for?? :)

(Fifteen-ish years ago, a buddy invited me to go on a BC mule deer hunt, so I purchased and sighted in with Federal Premium 150gr Nosler Partitions. For reasons I won't go into here, the trip didn't happen. In between archery hunts, here in NS, I did shoot a couple of whitetails with that .270 factory ammo and got very fast, clean kills. I wouldn't hesitate to use it on moose.)

I'm going to develop a load for my 270 Ackley Improved

The Nosler website shows H4831 max as 55 grains for their 270 150 grain bullets. I worked up and my groups shrank at 58 grains of H4831 just like Mr. H4831 said they would!
