My rifle shoots 1/2" groups @100 yards all day! Really? Prove it.

Ok, so I tried again today. Conditions weren't all that great. Temp was -4, winds were 15 gusting 32 km/h from the north west, our range is oriented south, southeast. I failed on the first group so I decided to shoot six groups anyways. I also need to get a piece of low pile carpet to put under my bipod. I'm shooting 69gr SMK's over Varget with cci br-2 primers, running at around 3075fps.

Here's the gun setup at the range

Heres one of the smallest group

And here is the target

The group size for each, starting top right to top left to middle right to middle left to bottom right to bottom left

1- .666"
2- .598"
3- .303"
4- .656"
5- .411"
6- .370"

Avg- .501"

I think if it's this cold next time I go out, I may try rem 7 1/2 br primers. Hopefully it's not as windy or cold next time! And maybe my aim might improve a little too.

I can quit posting updates here as I keep making attempts if you guys prefer that. I just thought i would kind of keep a log and show my attempts whether successful or not.

Maybe next time,

-Ryan

Damn even if that thing hadn't shot that rifle is beautiful. I got a bunch of rounds loaded up just waiting for some nicer weather to do the load testing.

Hmm ... no Dasher here yet. Shot this last summer but just figured out I could get pic from !pad to photobucket. This one is interesting as I used 3 different bullets to shoot the groups. On each end is 105 Ber VLD Target, in center Berger VLD Hunting, and each side of center 100 gr Berger VLD Target. Barnard action in a Reibin stock posted before, 6 Dasher in Bartlein Varmint contour barrel chambered by Henry Rempel.
Groups were 0.32/0.26/0.39/0.40/0.39 ...AGG 0.352

Went to give this a go today and blew it on the 21st shot. Tried to compensate but ended going to far on the other side. Shot on the 100M line at the CDTSA Milo range. Shot prone with an Atlas PSR up front and squeeze bag in the rear.

Custom 6.5X55 Swede put together by the Chou Brothers, brand new lapua press (unprepped), lapua 139gr Scenars, and 4831SC.

Group Sizes were:
.498 - this one was close to measure...
.151
.318
.379
.784

I was testing how a higher velocity node would handle a longer string of fire and managed to print a set of groups that fit the bill.
The one group that looks floated in the top for no reason was because I was shooting long prior and forgot to dial down.
I was shooting prone.

The rifle is custom with the following specs:
Action- Stiller Tac 300
Barrel- Benchmark MTU 1:9" 28"
Stock- AICS Chassis
Cartridge- 284 Winchester
Front Rest- Harris Bipod
Rear Rest- Medium Sand Bag

Group sizes are:
0.346"
0.289"
0.493"
0.471"
0.468"

The .311 group is the only one that is hard to tell if there are 5 shots, and I believe there is. The rest of the groups I have no problem seeing 5 shots. Nice shooting r204

Wow, over react much; talk about ultra thin skin with abusive attitude. Simple question from bsand, no need to get offensive and make something out of nothing.

Could have simply help out the community by explaining how to read/interpret the 5 shots but instead you choose to be a dickwad.

Obviously you got anger management issues. Bet if someone ask you if your equipment is any good you go into a angry tirade. This was a fun, friendly game till you came along. You must be the life of the party. Chill out, dude. And nice shooting BTW.

I thought it was 5 shots of 5 i only count 4bullet holes...

here is 3 in the one hole not just 2. All of those groups are 5 shot groups. Oh and by the way I really take offence to some no mind accusing me of cheating on some piss a$$ little challange. Feel free to remove my name from your successful list if you so choose.

Wow just wow are you really that uninformed. I would like for you to explaine to everyone just how exactly you would see 5 bullet holes in groups that measure in the .1 or .2 or even some .3 groups. Acording to your lodgic (or lack of) those groups couldn't be 5 shot groups because you can only make out 2 or 3 bullet holes.
