Savage Mark 2 Bottom Metal

I wonder if I had a bunch made from a shop with a water jet table in Calgary if there would be enough interest to sell them? I did a bunch of stainless lever loops and there was only two people that actually bought them, I think if I got some cut i would go with aluminum and probably not clean up the edges or paint them, leave that for the end user and would cost about $35 a piece

Where would you get the longer actions screws? I would be interested, the stock on the FV-SR is horrid! Need to change that out one of these days.

The current aftermarket mag bottom metal are steel, blasted and blued around $20-$25.
Trigger guards are aluminum, polished and anodized for $25-$30. You would probably have a tough sell at $35

Good to know, I'm referring to trigger guards (sorry for the confusion), can those mentioned be imported to Canada though? I don't know, if they can then there's no point, but even at $30 USD, that's still easily $45-50 by the time it gets to your door, maybe even $60 depending on shipping (opticsplanet is bad like that). I would probably order 6061 T6 aluminum, and maybe use a little bit thicker material then the original piece, drill out the bottom screw holes and leave the final rounding and paint to the end user.
 
Kinney's will ship DIP products to Canada for $10. Boyds has their own trigger guards for $22, but I don't know how much they charge to ship, but also Canada friendly.

I think the big difference is they are selling a finished product. I'd take anodized over paint any day. And unless you have a deal with Canada Post, the cheapest shipping for a box is like $12-15 now, so still $50 for an unfinished triggerguard. If you make them thin enough they might fit in a padded envelope and go as oversized letter for $3....

What did the SS lever loops fit?

would be so much nicer if savage had a one piece trigger guard and bottom metal

or if somebody laser cut a bottom metal that extended to the second action screw, I'd like that much better than the washer I'm also using, those stocks are pretty soft

Even if they extended the trigger guard enough to support the rear action screw, I'd be happy with that. Having it supported by just the wood is poor design.....
