Going rate for a elcan C79 scope

Hi folks just curious what the going rate for a C79 optic in very good condition, black boot, dep tritium and original paperwork would be?

Seen them go on EE anywhere from $600 to $1000.

I think Nordic Components was selling refurbed black ones, spent Tritium for about $1000 not long ago.

I bought mine with expired tritium for $400.
As Daver II hinted, there may be better choices...

Thing is it really is a fantastic optic. Incredible glass and the mount had given me no problems though I get if you were humping it up and down mountains day after day it could be delicate. I just got a strike fire on the way and want to fund a aimpoint T1

They are dashes with an arrow recessed into the mount

That means it's a gen1 mount. Id say anywhere from 600-800 depending on condition of glass

When it was bought new in 94 til 2 years ago it sat in a safe with about 100 rounds through it. I've used it more in 2 years than in its last 19 combined. Thanks for the info.

Interesting, I never noticed that detail. I thought there was some sort of spring inside he mount you were supposed to look for.

That as well. The lack of spring is supposedly the reason for zero issues on the gen1 mount. Never had a problem with mine holding zero though

I guess I definitely have a Gen 2

Now I just have to go to things engraved and have C79A2 engraved on the side
