My local firearms store has a case of SVT-40's for $289 each rifle

Is it a '40 dated Kovrov? If so, offer someone close by a $100 - that's still cheaper then what someone would list that rare of an SVT for on the EE
 
FYI called them today and was informed the price is now 450$ seems they have about 8 left 1941-1942's Tula only some with rails but NO notch. A bit of an increase from original post, i guess the exposure on CGN made them a bit $ hungry ;)

Good! Now I can stop wasting time thinking about how to get one from that store.
 
I was in the store today. Turns out someone came in and tried to buy the them all when they were 289. Unfortunately they tried to get the price lowered because it was to high. The owner wouldn't drop his price, owner decided to go online and see if he was asking to much. Guess what he finds out the current price. So now they are $450.
