Nice. Too bad it was re-chambered.
Why? Only if you collect and don't use it would the value be affected... Performance wise the Weatherby is about 200 feet per second faster... and if you want you can still fire H&H in it.
I had a 375 Wby at one time and was left rather unimpressed. Fire formed brass had shorter necks than factory 375 Wby and my gains were around 100-120 fps max. The H&H also doesn't print where the Wby does, so you couldn't swap in H&H in a pinch without sighting in again. Resale value is also affected negatively.
For those reasons I really saw no advantages, but others may disagree, which is fine. My thinking was that if I needed more than the H&H offers then I may as well jump to a 378 Wby.
The .378 makes sense for folks that don't mind tuning the rifle and loads to suit their liking. If I had one,I still have a 375 Wby (along with a couple 375 H&H's). I like the cartridge. Does everything the H&H does just a little bit better. - dan
