Installing aftermarket glock sights

sights are doable with our a tool..... but the tool is a way better option.

you risk marring the finish of your gun,or damaging the sight.

I had bought truglo tfo sights for my hk ($150)
and broke the tritium insert installing them with a punch..... should have bought the tool...

sights are also much easier to adjust with the tool.

Some sights come with a tool (front sight tool that is). Spare tools can be bought for pretty cheap, and it's always good to have that tool just in case anyway. Any place that sells the sights ought to also sell a cheap tool.

If you broke the tritium wouldn't that have released radiation?

You are better off buying or borrowing the tool. "Steel" aftermarket sights for glocks are a compression/interference fit in the dovetail and are tight as...well, really tight! Like, remarkably tight! (BTW, because of how they're fit, never buy used sights that have been installed. They will more often than not become loose in your slide.)

I think your question mainly refers to the rear sight? I replaced mine without any tool, not even a vise. just hammer and copper punch padded with paper towel to avoid damage to the sight. just needs patience and steady hand.
the front sight needs a hex screwdriver with thinner outside wall, but it's very cheap. I bought online for $5. the sight I put on my glock 22 was the TFO fibre optical sight

Easy to do without spending the $175 on the glock sight tool?

If they are Trijicon or tritium night sight, please avoid using a punch and hammer. You could break the signt or the tritium vial inside. Don't ask me how, trust me!
