Anyone here owns a Ruger Guide Gun...thoughts?

I have one in 338win, just took a young bull moose with it a couple of weeks ago. Love the rifle!

HD what are the express sights regulated for?

Decided on a different rifle but the idea of non adjustable sights in calibers like 375 and 338 with o many bullet weights kind of ruins the gun for me.

No idea but they seemed to be minute of bear at 50m when I tried them before putting the scope on and that is what I wanted them for. I've got a set of QD warn rings that I'll be installing before next season and I'll play around with the irons more at that time.

Thanks, congrats on the moose.

does it come with multiple blades?

To the op I posted a thread asking a similar question a few months ago you can find it in my profile. Lots of good responses.

Leupold Mk4 M2 MR/T 2.5-8x with illuminated retical. It was not busy on anther rifle at the time so I put it on to try it out. The calibrations on the M2 turrets seem to match the 230gr Winchester Failsafe ammo I'm using.

I wish Ruger would grow out of their recent obsession with hanging a brake or flash-hider off the end of their barrels.

Late, late here, but for what it's worth maybe you're still looking into it. I purchased the Guide Gun in 30-06 about a year ago and love it. Haven't had a chance to take a deer with it yet, but found it to be great fun at the range. I have a Bushnell Elite on it.

Just picked up the .338 wm version..... Recoils like a pussycat with the brake on..... But obnoxiously loud.....

Thankfully, they come with a thread protector and also a weight the same weight as the brake.....
