.308 norinco ammo?

I have a whole bunch of the Norinco .308 ammo

I'm running it in 2 of my 3 M-305's.
It's fairly clean and decently accurate from my rifles.
i chronographed it through my 22" barrel and the average velocity was 2795 fps with an extreme spread of less than 100 fps

I concur with Sniper58 on chincom 762NATO.

Averaged out to 2804fps @ 15 feet in my M14s. Do the math on the spec velocity drop for 762NATO which was taken at 25 yards, and you'll see it's right on the money.

Extreme spread was very good and as accurate or better than any other ball ammo through mine. It is superior to Tula or Barnual in the accuracy and cleanliness dept's, those are reliable through mine as well.

Around 2000 rounds of it through my rifle, 100% reliable. Throat looks really sharp and passes the bullet test fine. Don't have an erosion gauge and didn't check the throat new so no real bench mark to determine if this is any harder on barrels than any domestic ball 762. I think the Nork chrome lined bore can take many rounds of it before giving up the ghost.:canadaFlag:

This thread got me thinking, so I went through my piles of paper here and found the chrono sheet from my chronograph session with the Norinco ammo

Avg velocity - 2798.9 fps
high - 2840 fps
low - 2751 fps
extreme spread - 89 fps
avg deviation - 22.5 fps

Test was shot on Apr 11, 2013
temp was +2 deg, so on a warmer day, velocity would have been higher (I think)

I bought a bunch of that copper washed Norinco ammo a while back and I no longer use it in my Norinco M14s. Between the two rifles, I have put over 1,500 rds down range with no problems except TWICE with that Norinco stuff I have popped the extractor out of my bolt. The first time it happened, I managed to put around 25 rds down range before it popped out and the second time, it did it on the 7th shot. Anyone else run into this? From now on I am just using it in my bolt action .308s.

I've used around 1000 rounds of it and haven't had any problems.
Still got 2500 rounds here
