Essentially they are the same, however if you want a Canadian one you need one that was manufactured by CL/C, AG/C or GSW. British manufactured ones will have maker logos of their respective companies.
It will be the same thing with the liners, Canadian ones will have VMC stamped on one of the liner arms while British ones will have their particular company marks. Early British liners (1939ish) are very different from later British and Canadian liners in the way they are made.
If, of course, you don't mind being one of the stripper clip/charger guys then any old tin lid/Brodie, etc will do in place of a fine Canadian MK II.
