Want to load a few for my son to shoot. I saw on Hodgnon's site 8.0gr of Titegroup under a 168gr projectile is ~20,000 CUP. Does this seem too light? Is there another load I could use instead? I have most of the popular rifle powders in my cabinet, along with some others like IMR 8208XBR, H4198 and IMR4064

We loaded up 38gr of IMR 4320 under Nosler 125 Spitzer 30 cal bullets for my buddies young son.
Dropped his first deer last season.
Rifle is a Ruger American in 308win.

No complaints from the young laddie.............

I've loaded plinking loads using:
- 7gr of Titegroup under a 165gr Hornady BTSP
- 8gr of Titegroup under a 150gr Hornady FMJ
- 10gr of Trailboss under a 165gr Hornady BTSP

All these loads have worked/functioned great. The recoil is less than a 223, and the report is very light/quiet.

Accuracy at 50 yards was very good with the 150gr FMJ load

How reduced do you want? You can either use .300 Savage beginning load data or I have some data just under 2000fps for the .308 ? Harold
