My little gurl, she kud track a bambi, an und she catch'n it up, latch'n on to shake herself. She's in that rattin barn b'yond dem clowds.

Dont ya be puttin' steel through that original barreled A-5. Browning says that's a big no-no!!

When we got mandated to steel I called Winchester to find out about using my 101 for steel. It was new enough (mid 80's) that it had the Browning Invector chokes but of course with the Winchoke designation. They ran the serial # for me and came back with it was safe to fire steel through that particular model provided I did not shoot anything larger than #2 shot up to and including the Imp Mod choke and anything larger than #2 not to go with any constriction tighter than the Mod choke supplied with the gun. Not a problem for me because I never shoot anything larger than #2 shot to begin with. I have thousands of rounds of steel through that gun to date and not an issue by following their advice. The only time I have shot larger than #2 was when I used to shoot a Gold 10 and then I shot #1 shot exclusively. Never been a fan of really large shot. I prefer to have some pattern density. I much prefer head and neck hits that fold them up to sparse pattern wing breaking. Lead that head and ignore the body and wings Looky. You'll be much more successful at dumping geese that way. Canada's make focusing on the head easy as you can focus on the cheek patch.
